2017 is here and with it comes many new manga releases for the year. With so many new manga released, we’re pretty sure it’s gonna be a bit of a pain to figure out which ones you wanna read. Not to worry though as we have got you covered.

For 2017, we’ve picked a good mix of totally brand new manga being released in 2017 as well as a few that were released just not too long ago in 2016. And while the newer ones in 2017 have yet to reach a good amount of chapters to really reach the “safe” zone of not being cancelled, we’re pretty sure our picks would at least stand the test of the ever-changing taste of manga readers in Japan and would last a pretty good while.

So without further adieu, let’s check out the top 10 manga of 2017 that you have to read (in no particular order)!

Origin

Origin Manga

Korean mangaka Boichi has had quite a large number of works since debuting in Japan, and he’s still at it with his new manga Origin.

The year is AD 2048. Japan is connected to the Eurasian continent by a transcontinental railroad. The capital, Tokyo, has become a crucible of criminals and terrorists. And so, in the metropolitan darkness a mysterious presence attacks and slaughters people, unnoticed, night after night… Just what are these “things that are not human” living in hiding in the human world? And just who is this “Origin” person who faces them?
This action packed manga has all the hallmarks of a Boichi. If you loved his worked in Terra Formars Gaiden: Asimov than be prepared for more of his lush artwork in Origin. The story itself is quite engaging. What happens when a robot tries to integrate itself into society, while battling those who won’t? As a bonus, if you like more of Boichi’s work, you might also want to check out his recently released Dr. Stone manga that he’s illustrating in collaboration with Riichiro Inagaki.
So there you have it, our manga picks for 2017. Do you agree with our picks? If not, do tell us what other manga you’d want to read this year and we might just do up another bonus list for you all!
