What a year 2014 was, huh? Let’s see what happened (deep breath)… Peter Parker came back from the dead, we got a new female Thor and an African-American Captain America; Batman celebrated his 75th birthday; Image ruled the creator-owned market; Marvel continued their fine cinematic form with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of The Galaxy; and DC ruled the small screen with Gotham, The Flash, Arrow and Constantine. Phew! And that’s just the stuff we remember off the top of our heads.

So what can we look forward to in 2015? Quite a lot too, as it turns out. From new movies to re-launched titles and big crossover events, here are six comic-related things that are going to be big this year:

1. DC’s Convergence

40 Earths one crazy Braniac Experiment
40 Earths one crazy Braniac Experiment

Have you been wishing that DC would just ditch the New 52 and go back to their old pre-52 continuity? Well, you’re about to get that wish, sort of. Grant Morrison’s Multiversity series has mapped all 52, yes, FIFTY TWO, Earths, giving the DC multiverse a sense of coherence like never before, and thus, making their upcoming Convergence crossover event all the more exciting.

Convergence, as the name suggests, is set to bring all these multiple Earths together in one, er, Earth shattering event that spins out from the weekly series Earth 2: World’s End and The New 52: Futures End. The main villain of the story is Braniac, who has trapped 40 cities from different Earths (including the pre-New 52 DC Earth!) in domes, and one day, decides to open his collection up to see what happens when the residents of these different dimensions and timelines meet. We can’t wait.
