Now that we’ve hit the end of a mysterious countdown on the official Code Geass Twitter, they’ve finally revealed that the franchise is getting not one but three movies! Trailer inside.

Not only have three movies been revealed, but they’ve also dropped a new trailer and a visual with opening dates for the compilation film trilogy.

The films in question are Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Awakening PathCode Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Rebellion Path and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Imperial Path.  These will be released in this order, starting from 21 October for the first film, followed by February 2018 for the second and May 2018 for the last one in Japan.

The three movies will recap all 50 episodes from the original series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, and will include new content as well as having the original cast members back to voice.

Alongside the movies, there will also be two new spin-off light novels, with the first being called Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Lancelot & Guren. This novel will center on the stories of Suzaku and Kallen; who weren’t in the original series. The second is Code Geass Story Fragment – Piece of the Mosaic, which is an onmibus that focuses on six different protagonists whose lives were changed by the events in the main story.

Of course, we’re still waiting for news about Season 3, but there’s plenty to tide us over while we wait for that to be released!
