Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient is getting a reboot, and those who have the original will get the reboot for free.

Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient Neues, as it is called has it’s first episode is set to arrive in July, straight to the PC, with added story, images and runs on the the aptly named KENIX Engine NEUES.

The game was originally released in 2013 as a sequel to Team GrisGris’ original Corpse Party games. Dead Patient was originally supposed to be an episodic release, but so far only one episode has come out, but it has also inspired a drama CD. Perhaps this reboot will mark the dawn of more releases?

As the story goes, it’s about Ayame Ito, a first-year high-school student who awakens in an unknown hospital after being in a coma. She’s also lost her memories, and has to find her way out of the seemingly deserted hospital.

Corpse Party as a series has spawned quite a few spinoff games across many platforms, manga series, OVAs as well as two live-action films in Japan.
