Will America ever learn? Stop remaking foreign content. You will fail. Big time. Remember the American version of Oldboy? What a disaster. And the recent Ghost in the Shell remake? *Facepalm*

Well, I gotta hand it to them. These guys take the phrase, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again,” very seriously. And now, we’re getting a Cowboy Bebop remake. Yippie! Looks like they also take the phrase, “long live original ideas,” seriously. Deadline reports that Tomorrow Studios – Marty Adelstein’s joint venture with ITV Studios – is currently developing a live-action adaptation of the cult Japanese animated series, with one of the writers of the adaptation being Chris Yost, who penned Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok.

We are excited to work with Sunrise in bringing this beloved anime to the U.S. and global marketplace as a live-action series. The animated version has long resonated with audiences worldwide, and with the continued, ever growing, popularity of anime, we believe a live action version will have an incredible impact today.

Cowboy Bebop anime synopsis:
