Marvel‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 may still be quite a ways off, but it doesn’t stop them from dropping this epic piece of concept art showing the Guardians taking on some massive space monster.

The reveal came from director/writer James Gunn, who released Andy Park’s concept art from the film on Facebook, which also appears in Empire Magazine.

We don’t know what this huge space-beastie of multiple limbs actually is, but we have to say that little baby Groot running off in the left corner is just too cute.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be focusing more on the interpersonal dynamics of the team (and that between “sisters” Gamora and Nebula) but teasers have also hinted that the sequel will be an even wilder ride than the first. Maybe some of that will spill over when the Guardians make their appearance in Avengers: Infinity War?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes 5 May, 2017.
