Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 isn’t even out yet, and there’s already confirmation on a third movie.

The sequel to the next movie may not be directed by James Gunn though, but he does confirm that a third installment is certainly on the way. The movie series is a long commitment and Gunn isn’t certain if he wants to spend the next three years working on another movie, he states in an interview with Complex.

Gunn is currently promoting a horror movie he wrote, The Belko Experiment, and production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 was completed last year. He has worked on both Guardians movies; and he is also working on Avengers: Infinity War to make sure the insertion of the Guardians goes well.

We’re currently unsure if the five main actors of the series will be back for the third movie, but we’re looking at a possible release date to be within the next couple of years; as Marvel CEO Kevin Feige confirmed that they weren’t looking past 2020 on the film schedule.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 hits the screens 5 May.
