The next iteration of the popular fighting game, Marvel vs. Capcom is in development and might be slated for a 2017 release.

While the game itself hasn’t been officially announced, the console game might be announced during the next PlayStation Experience event where the Capcom Cup 2016 Street Fighter 5 tourney will be taking place.

As for the game itself, expect it to be drawing a lot of characters which where popularised by Marvel Studios and the cinematic universe; like characters from The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The last Marvel vs. Capcom game (Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds) was release in 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, followed by Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

In the mean time, Capcom is keeping mum because they don’t comment on rumours and speculation, so take this with a pinch of salt.
