Marvel‘s Inhumans TV series is going to debut on IMAX before it moves on to regular TV screen on ABC; with its first two episodes to exclusively show on IMAX.
Set to premiere in September next year, Inhumans would be the first time a live-action TV series will be showing on IMAX, with the episodes to screen for two weeks. After that, the series will air on ABC with “additional exclusive content” that will only be seen on said network.
Brought to life by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965, the Inhumans are a race of super-humans with a diverse spectrum of abilities. They’re already enjoying a fair bit of popularity on the comics front and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D have already introduced and explored the mutant-like concept heavily.
“We’re happy to see this unique deal come together, working with our partners,” said Dan Buckley, President, Marvel Television, Publishing & Brand. “In an ever-changing world of distribution and consumption, it’s very exciting to be part of a groundbreaking initiative that takes us to the forefront of this evolution.”
Hopefully we’ll get some of the action on our local cinema screens as well. If you’re not familiar with the Inhumans, this video will help clue you in:
