Dracue Software has announced that the release of their remake of Assault Suit Leynos for PS4 is delayed to May 2015. Initially, the reboot was anticipated for 2014, when it was announced at BitSummit earlier this year.

The delay, according to Dracue Software, is to ensure that the remake will live up to fans’ expectations, and complete with more features such as multiple endings and a two-player mode.

First released in Japan back in 1990 under NES and Sega Genesis, the franchise saw three more sequels with the last one coming out in 2004. In the US, the first game was known as Target Earth.

In a nutshell, it’s a 2D side-scrolling platform shooter, featuring the mecha fighting against everything else in a desperate bid to save Earth. Check out the gameplay video below.

“In Orario, fearless adventurers band together in search of fame and fortune within the monstrous underground labyrinth known as Dungeon.
But while riches and renown are incentive enough for most, Bell Cranel, would-be hero extraordinaire, has bigger plans.
He wants to pick up girls.

Is it wrong to face the perils of Dungeon alone, in a single-member guild blessed by a failed goddess? Maybe. Is it wrong to dream of playing hero to hapless maidens in Dungeon? Maybe not. After one misguided adventure, Bell quickly discovers that anything can happen in the labyrinth–even chance encounters with beautiful women. The only problem? He’s the one who winds up the damsel in distress! !”

Google’s intriguing modular smartphone project —  Project Ara has a new update. Team leader of the project, Paul Eremenko, in an interview at Purdue University, revealed that there will be a special store to purchase Ara components. Like the Google Play app store, there will be reviews and recommendations for each individual components listed as well.

Google has opened the development to everyone who are interested in developing their Ara modules. In the said interview, Paul Eremenko mentioned that Ara MDK is open source so budding creators can use it to create his/her own module and put it up for sale in the Ara store.

Developers are hoping that users will remain with the Ara for as long as 5-6 years, with a basis that they can slot in a new CPU or camera as opposed to buying an entirely new system. Project Ara allows users to customise things like colours, images and any desired components, much like a Lego toy. There is even 3D printed textures that will make the touching sensation pleasant for a few modules.

The Ara is expected to make a debut in January 2015.

Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind Chain is Flying in This December

AOT
Hanging on for dear life

4 December 2014 will be a good date for Shingeki no Kyojin or Attack on Titan’s fans.

Why?

The Japanese release of 3DS game of the franchise, namely Shingeki no Kyojin: Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa Chain or The Last Wings of Mankind Chain by Spike Chunsoft will make a debut. Check out their promo video below, showcasing new missions and elements from the multiplayer gameplay mode.

The release is priced at JPY4980 (RM146) for the s0tandalone version or additional JPY2000 (RM59) for an upgrade from the previous release. New content includes new stages, more titans, new missions, weapons, artwork,  characters and voice acting.

The first game follows the anime story strictly, beginning from the year 845 when Titans first attacked the humans. The player controls Eren first, then as the game progresses, the entire Reconnaissance Corps members will become playable. The first game ends where the anime ended in terms of storyline.

The gameplay emphasises on swinging arcs — a player can vary their attacks via cutting angles from a simple double cut for a horizontal attack to somersaulting buzzsaw-like attack for a vertical one. For defence, player can time it right to become spinning ball of death or attempt a counter-attack.

If you’re successful in executing a good move, you’ll be rewarded with a slow-mo ‘money shot.’ The terrain also plays a huge part in the game — normal urban or forest is suitable for aerial swinging attacks whereas on the plain grass field, you have to rely on the horse to evade Titans and you’re limited to performing low attacks.

There’s a single player mode where you can play the progression of the story for each character and a World mode where you’re able to team up with three more players. The World mode rewards with better weapons and manoeuvre gear, but it will require constant grinding to get it.

Marvel has announced their new movies till 2019

All the Marvel movies till 2019 (Image from Eyeris.blogspot.com)

It’s time to wet your pants/panties/underwear comic fans. Marvel has just announced their upcoming movies all the way till 2019. The announcement was made at a fan event in Hollywood and it detailed their third phase of movies that’ll run through till 2019.

So what can we expect from them? PLENTY! We already know that Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-man are slated for 2015, but now we’re getting release dates for movies from 2016 onwards. And it’s not only extensions of existing Marvel movies already out like Iron-Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers. We’ll also be seeing additions into the Marvel movie family!

So here’s the breakdown in chronological order:

Captain America: Civil War

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: May 6 2016

If the story will be taking the Civil War story-line that ran in the comics, we’ll be seeing some hero vs hero action, more specifically Captain America vs Iron Man. The original comic story line saw a line being drawn among the heroes over the Superhuman Registration Act where those with powers and unique abilities had to register with the government and disclose their identities. It pitted those heroes that were for it and against it and ran from 2006 till 2007. It’ll be interesting to see how this is adapted to the live version and there’s even a bonus as its been confirmed that the Wakandan hero Black Panther, who will be played by  Chad Boseworth, will be making his debut in the movie.

Doctor Strange

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: November 4 2016

Marvel’s Master of Mysticism is getting his own movie and it seems that Benedict Cumberbatch is slated for the lead, though the event did not confirm his involvement yet. Though no details on what exactly the story will be about, the fact that Sinister and Deliver us from Evil  director Scott Derrickson will be helming the film, we should expect something with a slight tinge of horror and of course magic to be in this movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: May 5 2017

Everyone’s favourite Marvel space crew is back and while Marvel has yet to give any detail of what the movie is going to be about, we have a sneaking suspicion that it’ll eventually tie in with the major Avengers: Infinity War movie that was also announced (more on that below).  Expect the Guardian’s cast from the first movie to return as well as James Gunn who will once again be directing the movie. Let’s hope it’ll just be as fun as the first one.

Thor: Ragnarok

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: July 28 2017

Once again, perfect hair Chris Hemsworth will be getting his own movie as Thor, but could this be his last? Ragnarok, in Norse mythology, refers to the “end of all things” and is associated with the Armageddon for the Norse gods. As no details on what exactly this movie is going to be about, it is rife with speculation. Ragnarok was also a story line in the Marvel Comics where Thor and the rest of Asgard was killed, removing them from the entire Marvel universe for a couple of years and considering that a roster change has been confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War this little tidbit is also quite telling. What ever it is, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige has said that this movie will pick up after Avengers: Age of Ultron and will impact everything that comes after.

Black Panther

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: November 3 2017

We know Black Panther will be making his debut in Captain America: Civil War.  However he isn’t just being relegated to a cameo role, or a token black character. He’s even getting his own movie. What it’s going to focus on though has yet to be announced but it would definitely put Black Panther’s own home country, Wakanda, into the MCU movie spot light. At least we hope it would.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: May 4 2018 and May 3 2019

So all the hints of Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet gems in the MCU movies culminates into this two parter of a movie, which just shows how big a threat he is. As Kevin Feige says of the first part of the movie “It is the beginning of the culmination of everything that has come before.” Expect some massive throwdown from all the heroes in the MCU with big baddy Thanos and we’re pretty sure it has repercussions in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Update: Someone managed to post a sneak peak of the Avengers: Infinity War teaser that was shown at the event. It’s taken with a hand cam though but you can still make out most of it.

Captain Marvel

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: July 6  2018

For old school Marvel fans expecting the original Mar-Vell in this movie, think again. Instead, the Carol Danvers version of Captain Marvel will be headlining for the screen version of Captain Marvel. This will be Marvel’s first female lead movie and they have yet to identify a lead actress to take on the role of Carol Danvers herself. It’s about time we see a female lead in the MCU movies and hopefully this will spawn more.

Inhumans

Image from Marvel.com
Image from Marvel.com

Release date: November 2 2018

Ah, the Inhumans. If you thought that the Guardians of the Galaxy were fringe characters, wait till you meet the Inhumans. They are a race of people from Earth that were experimented on by the Kree millions of years ago and evolved differently to have powers. Some of the more recognisable characters include Black Bolt, Medusa, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal and the loveable, giant dog, Lockjaw. How they’ll tie in to the MCU is yet unknown and details are really sparse but we do see one potential link. As we know, Quicksilver will be debuting in Avengers: Age of Ultron and in the comics, he was at one time married to Crystal, one of the Inhumans and even had a child called Luna. How the MCU is going fit this in is still up to speculation but that is also a possibility.

So there you have it. Marvel’s list of movies till 2019. It’s going to be an exciting time for geeks in the next five years and we’re pretty sure there’s more to come. So stay tuned to our site as more info for each movie comes in and hopefully, Marvel doesn’t screw anyone of them up.

Valkyria Chronicles is coming to the PC soon

valkyria_chronicles

For those of you too reluctant to fork out money for any gaming console and you call the PC the master of the gaming race, rejoice!

Sega recently tweeted that its famous tactical RPG, Valkyria Chronicles is headed to the  PC soon. Though no set date for the release was mentioned, Sega did promise more details will be revealed .

The game is set in and alternate world called Europa in what looks like our 1930s. War has erupted in Europa and the players are to  command of a militia unit of Gallia, a neutral Europan country that is rich with Ragnite ore, the main source of fuel in the world. When the game starts, Gallia has already been invaded by the militaristic East Europan Imperial Empire, while the Empire itself is at war with the Atlantic Federation.

Valkyria Chronicles was first launched in 2008 as a PS3 exclusive game and it was highly praised and received numerous awards. It even managed to spawn several manga titles and an anime series and two game sequels, which sadly, has never been seen outside Japan.

As an added bonus, we’ve thrown in the PS3 launch trailer below to so you’ll get some hint of nostalgia, and also see just what everyone was raving about back then.

Food Wars: Shokugeki no Shouma gets an anime

The title and 2 main characters
The title and 2 main characters

An accidental tweet by Yajimaya Bookstore HQ has revealed that the popular Shonen Jump! manga, Food Wars: Shokugeki no Souma, is getting its own anime adaptation. The tweet was deleted pretty soon, but Shueisha confirmed it later on which caused a lot of excited talk amongst the Japanese anime fans.

Later on, the Tweet below confirmed the news with a scan image of the confirmation.

The anime is slated for 2015 release with casts like Makoto Furukawa (Aldnoah Zero, Golden Time), Sora Amamiya (Aldnoah Zero, Akame ga Kill!) and Kana Hanazawa (Akame ga Kill!, Angel Beats!). Some famous and veteran anime production staffs are also attached to the project including director Takashi Watanabe (Shakugan no Shana & Senran Kagura).  Scripting will be handled Hiroyuki Yoshino (Accel World, Code Geass) and it will be animated by Production IMS (Date A Live, Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu).

The manga is known for combining cooking and ecchi (fanservice) scenes and follows the story about a Yukihira Souma. the son of a small eatery chef, Yukihira Jouichirou. All Souma dreams is to work in his father’s eatery and beat his father in cooking skills. One day he receives a rude shock when the place is closed down after his father goes to Europe to cook. Jouichirou than challenges Souma to survive and graduate from an elite cooking school where only 10% of the entrants pass. His cooking adventures then begin from there.

With predecessors from  Shonen Jump! like Naruto, Slam Dunk and One Piece having reached big popularity worldwide with their jump to anime, there’s good reason why an anime adpatation of Food Wars: Shokugeki no Souma will be causing quite a stir.

You have to watch Avengers: Age of Ultron’s extended trailer now

Pissed off Ultron
avengers1
Iron Man, Ultron and Captain America posing

Previously we posted the teaser trailer of Avengers: Age of Ultron which gave us a glimpse of what to expect next year. Well, Marvel has now released an extended trailer for the movie complete with a pretty long segment of interaction between the members of the Avengers. We get to see Tony Stark and his merry company having a simple drink and for fun, they all try to see just how worthy they are to lift up Thor’s Mjolnir. Doesn’t seem like anyone is though, Captain America did give ol’ Thor a bit of a scare. What follows after that is almost the same sequence we saw in the teaser trailer, with a haunting version of  the “I’ve got no strings” songs from Disney’s Pinocchio playing in the background (very appropriate we might add).

The movie is scheduled for a May 2015 release, pretty much solidifying its position as the movie to watch next year. And with Marvel announcing their movie plans all the way till 2019, Avengers: Age of Ultron is just the beginning of what we hope will be an awesome Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) roller coaster ride.

Razer has unleashed the Leviathan Sound Bar

leviathan_gallery_07-n
Will the Leviathan bring monstrous sound to the PC?

Speakers, earphones, in-earbuds, even mini-Bluetooth speakers. Razer has pretty much got themselves into almost every audio accessory you can think off. Except the sound bar that is. Now however, that isn’t the case anymore with their new Razer Leviathan Sound Bar.

So what does it have? There’s two 63.5mm full range audio drivers and two 19mm tweeters on the Leviathan which sounds decent enough. As expected, you can use it as a normal wired analogue or optical speaker. However that’s not all it offers. On top of your usual way of connecting the speaker to a PC, the Leviathan can also be connected by way of Bluetooth 4.0, turning it into a wireless speaker. It even comes with NFC so you can easily connect it to any of your NFC equipped devices.

Of course being Razer, the Leviathan main target is gamers and we do admit that this particular form factor is perfect for people with a little less desk space. The Leviathan was designed for space economy and versatility in mind. It’s not that heavy either weighing in around 2.35kg. Need a good angle for your tunes or games? It can adjust its tilt angles to 0⁰,15⁰ and 18⁰ for optimal sound. Razer even included three preset equaliser modes tuned for gaming, music and movies.

It’s also Dolby Digital tech put in which, in simple terms, gives you virtual 5.1 channel sound, despite it being a single speaker. That’s of course with the main tweeters working in concert with the dedicated 133mm downward firing sub-woofer that able to deliver bass quality sound.

Pew Pew Pew
Pew Pew Pew

So how much is this going to cost you? You can expect to fork out RM689 for the Leviathan so be prepared to camp out at Razer’s online store when they release it sometime next month.

Benedict Cumberbatch is Doctor Strange

The Master of Mysticism gets a movie face
The Master of Mysticism gets a movie face

Sherlock Holmes, Khan, Smaug and now Doctor Strange. Just how many iconic characters can Benedict Cumberbatch have under his belt? Yep you read that right, Marvel’s man of mysticism, Dr. Strange has found it’s lead and it’s Mr Holmes himself.

According to website Deadline, the British actor is in “final talks” with Marvel to seal the deal for Marvel’s Dr Strange adaptation. Yes it isn’t a full 100% but according to the site, the deal is very likely to be sealed. Previously, the front runner for the role was Joaquin Phoenix, but it seems that didn’t fall through as the actor did not want to commit himself to a multi-film deal. Other names have also been attached as hopeful potentials for the role including Jared Leto and Tom Hardy, but looks like Benedict Cumberbatch has come on top, and boy do we think he might just be perfect for it.

Is Mr Holmes the right fit for Dr Strange?
Is Mr Holmes the right fit for Dr Strange?

Dr Strange is scheduled for a 2016 release and it is supposed to be a free standing film. Considering the mystical nature of the film, it looks like it’s in good hands as well with Scott Derrickson as director. He has previously directed Sinister, Deliver us from Evil, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and various other horror related projects. This kind of gives us a good idea where the subject of the film is headed. The scrip itself is being penned by Jon Spaith, who co-wrote the script to Prometheus.

So now that Marvel’s Master of Mysticism has been more or less confirmed, what do you think of their choice? Also, just who do you think would be perfect for the role of Dr Strange’s manservant Wong?
