Seth MacFarlane’s Star Trek spoof, The Orville has just dropped its first trailer and it’s pretty funny!

However, I haven’t really made up my mind about Seth MacFarlane yet. On one hand, he brought us Family Guy; on the other, he wrote the worst comedy of 2014, A Million Ways to Die in the West. He wrote the surprisingly funny Ted and then butchered his own property with Ted 2. You get the drill.

With that in mind, I won’t be tuning into The Orville later this year with high expectations. Having said that, this first trailer cracked me up on a few different occasions. Check out the hilarious trailer below.

Just in case it isn’t obvious enough, The Orville is a Star Trek spoof. Again, I’m on the fence about this. Spoofs have always left a bitter taste in my mouth because of movies like Epic Movie, Dance Flick and Fifty Shades of Black – why did I even watch this one *facepalm*. But seeing as how Jon Favreau will be directing the pilot, I’ll definitely give it a shot.

The Orville will air Thursdays (US time) later this year on Fox.

He spends half of his time convincing anyone who would listen to watch Star Wars, and the other half trying to figure out why people consider White Chicks and Ouija to be good films.
