The Professor Layton franchise is getting developed into its own TV series and they’ve releasing sometime next year.

Total Licensing magazine recently revealed the news, and the upcoming TV series is set to have 26 episodes and will hit the screens sometime in 2018.

If you’re not familiar with the games, Professor Hershel Layton and his apprentice, Luke solve mysteries, which are the basis of the puzzle games the franchise is known for. Professor Layton had also previously inspired an anime film called Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva in 2009.

Level-5 (the developers for Professor Layton) are also planning a variety of content for the franchise, including that of “animated products” with a new Layton title set to drop in late summer 2018. However, while it is most likely a new game, there isn’t any confirmation on whether or not it’s a game or something else entirely.

Hopefully, they’ll make an announcement soon.
