Entertainment Weekly has just dropped some set images and the first look at the God of Thunder’s new do for Thor’s third solo adventure.
The movie has been taking a lighter tone thanks to director Taika Waititi, who has brought the characters and tone to a different direction. Thor: Ragnarok won’t devolve into some full-blown comedy, so you don’t actually have to worry that the movie had dropped any of its grit.
Thor will be facing off against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the Goddess of Death, Hela (Cate Blanchett) who banishes Thor to the planet Saakar. Here he’s forced to battle for his life in gladiatorial combat against the Hulk, somewhat in the vein of 2006’s Planet Hulk storyline.
At least Chris Hemsworth is taking his new look in stride; stating that “It was nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning. It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character,”.
Starring Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and directed by Taika Waititi, Thor:Ragnarok hits the screens 3 November 2017.
