Like a beast from the deep, a trailer for J.J Abram’s mysterious Cloverfield sequel emerges on the internet, called 10 Cloverfield Lane.

This is a sequel to the 2008 movie Cloverfield and it looks far more intriguing. The original movie was basically a monster flick told “Blair Witch” style, mostly though the lens of a survivor’s video camera of the chaos that unfolded around them.

The arrival of 10 Cloverfield Lane was announced by Abrams himself:

“The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.”

The film is directed by short film director Dan Trachtenberg and the cast include Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman as well as John Gallagher, Jr.

Winstead dropped some information on her character; who wakes up in a cellar being kept by a stranger played by Goodman.

“He tells me that basically the world is over outside because there’s been a nuclear fall-out… you don’t know who’s telling the truth or who to believe. There’s a lot of, who’s manipulating who, and all of that. Tonally, it’s very different, but it has some of those same themes.”

That’s about all we know about the movie at the moment but the amount of questions spawned by the trailer has really got us itching to find out more. 10 Cloverfield Lane is set to hit 11 March 2016.
