2. Gintama
Do we really need to say anything when it comes to Gintama? In case you’re not familiar with the anime, it focuses on a former samurai completing any and all odd jobs in Edo period Japan, which coincidentally has already been conquered by aliens.
This anime can be a ball of randomness and funny. There’s the lunacy of the freelance work that Gin and his friends have to undertake, their brilliant characterisations and the absolutely absurd scenarios they’re always involved in. But for an anime series quite focused on the funny, you’ll find the occasional action scene that actually stands above most other anime.
And with a live-action movie slated for release this year, it’ll be a great time to catch-up with the five seasons this anime has if you’ve yet to experience the weirdness and joy that is Gintama.
