Potterheads rejoice! Have you been suffering from Harry Potter withdrawals? I have! Well don’t worry, we’ll be able to feed our addiction soon enough.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone book. A book that kickstarted a universe that eventually went on to touch and inspire millions of people around the world. As a treat, two new Harry Potter books will be released this October, according to The Globe and Mail.

  1. Harry Potter: A History of Magic — The Book of the Exhibition
  2. Harry Potter — A Journey Through A History of Magic

The first book would discuss in detail, the subjects that the students of Hogwarts study. The second book would explore the lesser known varieties of magic in J.K. Rowling’s universe, like Alchemy. It is important for fans to remember that these books are not penned by J.K. Rowling herself but rather, the British Library’s curatorial team. But of course, these are books approved by Rowling herself and will be a part of the Harry Potter “canon.”

In addition to that, the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will also be released during that time. The illustrations will be done by Jim Kay who also drew the illustrations for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
