Looks like Sony Pictures is moving ahead with a 23 Jump Street film that will be bridging the gap between that franchise and Men in Black.

The new film will be starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hills in their previous roles as undercover detectives Schmidt and Jenko; but Tommy Lee Jones or Will Smith won’t be back as the iconic agents.

Sony is apparently looking to recast the two with younger actors. The rumour  originally came about some time back when Sony got hacked, and the rumour has been floating around since. So we guess now its official.

The crossover will be helmed by James Bobin, the director for Muppets Most Wanted. The production hasn’t officially been given the green light but Sony says that an early script has been approved and they hope to start production this June.

No word as to when they’re thinking of releasing 23 Jump Street but you’ll be sure to hear it from us when they do.
