Kaz: Pushing the Virtual Divide
The Gran Turismo series of games is undeniably one of Sony’s most successful franchises and the architect behind its success is Kazunori Yamauchi. This documentary focuses on him and explores just what drives him to make what is one of the most popular racing games on the console.
You might be tempted to think that the documentary is just some long marketing piece from Sony, considering it was funded by it (and it does feel like it a bit). Despite that, it still is a decent piece of film making, which doesn’t stray to much into overt marketing and sticks to the main subject of Kazunori himself. Well shot, and for some, it might feel like a vanity piece, this is still one documentary you’d have to see, especially if you’re a big Gran Turismo fan.
