4. Spider-Man: Homecoming

I went back and forth a few times with my number four and number three but ultimately decided that Spider-Man: Homecoming would finish fourth on my list. I’m excited for this one. While Sam Raimi’s Spiderverse consists of brilliant comic book movies (besides the third one), Tobey Maguire just did not feel like Spider-Man. Mark Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man films were rather enjoyable as well. But, again, Andrew Garfield, though oozing sex appeal, did not feel like Spider-Man proper. Something didn’t feel right. I just can’t seem to put my finger on it.

Oh wait, I can. They were both 30-year-olds pretending to be high schoolers. Spider-Man: Homecoming is a completely different ballgame. For once, we have a Spider-Man that encapsulates the look and feel of the comic books perfectly. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was a standout in Captain America: Civil WarConsidering how brilliant the film is, that really is saying something.

That aside, Spider-Man: Homecoming will also feature Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man which will definitely get more butts in seats.
