3. Jurassic World characters

Okay, these are actually two costume ideas but if you dig Jurassic World (who doesn’t?) you might want to give one of these a try. They’re both pretty easy; though depending on how you execute it, your mileage may vary!

Owen Brady

jurassic-world-04

Ahh yes, Owen Brady. Our favourite raptor trainer is a popular choice due to its simplicity and the fact you’re pretty much allowed to carry around an armful of raptor plushies and get away with it. Anyone who would have watched Jurassic World or seen the promo materials would know who he is.

What you need:

  • A Light-blue long sleeved shirt
  • A Dark brown leather vest (cloth is fine, just make sure it has heaps of pockets)
  • Worn out jeans
  • Extra: Toy hunting rifle, velociraptor plushies, red lipstick (for some scratches, silly)

Bonus points if you have a kid you can dress up as a raptor or carry around some raptor plushies. People dig Chris Pratt.

Like for Agent 47 all you need to do is wear everything. Fold up your sleeves to the elbows and you’re pretty much done. You might want let a bit of stubble grow out too, for added effect. If you can’t grow the necessary stubble, you can cheat by using eyeliner like the video below.

You can also add a few “scratches” on your arms with the lipstick for some realism, especially if you’ve got velociraptors with you.

Margarita Guy

maragarita guy from jurrassic world costume

Possibly the actual star of the show, this guy randomly pops up for a few seconds while running away from pterodactyls, because his margaritas are more important than life itself. Even if people haven’t watched the movie, you’ll still get a kick out of it because, lets face it, its funny as hell.

Here’s what you need:

  • One orange Hawaiian style shirt
  • Sunglasses
  • Two Margarita glasses (plastic or glass, its up to you)
  • Khaki Shorts
  • White baseball cap
  • Extra: Toy pteranodons or equivalent, safety pins, paint

Again, wear all your gear as you would normally. As for the glasses, you might want to paint them so it looks like there’s actual margaritas in them or at the very least stuff them with coloured paper for effect. If you can get ahold of some toy pterodactyls or pteranodons, you can pin one to your back or anywhere else on you so it looks like you’re under attack! Even if people don’t know the character, you’ll at least get some attention for having a big flying lizard pecking at your head!
