Despite appearing in the news a few times recently, you’d be forgiven if you’ve never heard of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, or TPPA, seeing as the powers that be have done everything within their power to keep it from you and all we have to go on are exposés from whistleblower websites like wikileaks.
In case you didn’t know, the TPPA is a trade agreement, drafted in secret, between political representatives from 12 countries; the U.S., Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Brunei, and of course Malaysia.
Now you might be thinking why are we even talking about something so boring and dry as trade agreements. The thing is the TPPA has the potential to impact the enjoyment of your favourite, TV shows, movies, games and anime. Got your attention yet?
