2. She-Hulk
Creators: Charles Soule and Javier Pulido
What it’s about: Jennifer Walters is a lawyer who just happens to be a green-skinned, gamma-powered superhero called She-Hulk. Seriously, you don’t want to mess with her.
Why it’s great: Fun fact: writer Charles Soule (Death of Wolverine, Inhuman, Swamp Thing) is actually a practicing lawyer in real life, so getting him to write a comic book about a superhero who is also a practicing lawyer was a stroke of genius. Imagine a John Grisham courtroom novel, but with a lot more smashing of furniture, pummeling of super-villains, and a green, sexy, gamma-powered She-Hulk at the centre of it all. The highlight of the series so far is a case where Jennifer has to defend Steve Rogers in court against Marvel’s OTHER superhero lawyer, Daredevil! The series is also sadly ending in 2015, but with Soule recently signing a contract to write exclusively for Marvel, let’s hope that his future projects with the House of Ideas will be just as entertaining as She-Hulk.
