Looks like Nintendo‘s “Mini” streak isn’t over yet, as they just filed a trademark last month that somewhat resembles the company’s famous handheld.

The trademark was filed under categories for “Programs for household video game machines” and “household video games” as well as categories like “key chains”,”bag charms”, “cosmetic tools” and “clothing”.

Nintendo also similarly filed trademarks for their Super NES Classic and NES Classic Mini a few months before their releases.

The trademark categories imply that the Nintendo Gameboy Mini might be small enough to hang as a bag charm or otherwise feature a wearable component. We won’t know for sure but it would be grand if they did bring back the Gameboy if you’re really wanting to pick up that bit of childhood nostalgia. I just hope they include a link cable.
