Looks like we have a new Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This time the mantle will be taken over by young Ender himself, Asa Butterfield. According to Latino Review, Asa’s agents and Sony are now under negotiations but according to the site that’s just a matter of formality and he is already confirmed for the role.

Arghhhh!

This version of Spider-Man will not only be part of the Sony Spider-Man franchise but also part of the current MCU. He is supposedly going to make his debut in Captain America: Civil War before solo forays under the guidance of Sony/Marvel partnership.

Yes you read that right. Despite the different studios, this Spidey is still going to be part of the canonical Marvel Cinematic Universe that so many fans were craving for.

With the casting of Asa Butterfield, this will put Spidey in his early years in Captain America: Civil War, and we might even get to see some superhero mentoring happen during the movie. There are some skepticism about Asa putting on the Spidey thighties though. Considering his more dramatic role in Ender’s Game  some believe he might not be all too suitable for the wise cracking Spider-Man. However, considering the intense competition for the role, the young actor must have done something right to get the role
