With A Silent Voice heading to the States in October, it’s great news to hear that the movie has also been confirmed to be nominated for an Oscar!
Being in the running for an Oscar in the Academy Awards Best Animated Feature category is a really big deal, and it’s not even a Ghibli movie.

Other anime movies that are in line for Oscar nominations are Mary and the Witch’s Flower and In This Corner of the World and of course, A Silent Voice.
With three big non-Ghibli movies in the running, will they get the same treatment Your Name did earlier this year? only time will tell.
