Acer’s just officially launched two more members of their Predator gaming family, the Acer Predator 17X gaming laptop and the G1 gaming desktop, providing gamers a compact yet powerful solution for gamers who need portability.

The two devices were originally debut at the Acer Global Press Conference earlier this year, and boy we were impressed. However, despite having the same looks as when we first saw them, the Predator G1 desktop has been buffed up with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU, quite a boost compared to the original GTX 980 it had at launch.acer predator gaming0007

The Predator 17X on the other hand, is exactly the same; with no changes to its hardware or specs. Both devices are still very much VR ready though, and the change wouldn’t impact your VR viewing experience in any way.

On top of that, Acer’s got some new features for the Predators under their collective hoods. For starters, the G1 desktop can support four VR standards and comes with 7.1 channel audio; supported by a Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5. It also comes with a mechanical keyboard with fully customiseable backlighting; with the first 10 buyers to receive a limited edition G1 Desktop Transport Suitcase.

As for the 17X laptop, it has Acer’s SoundPound 4.2 under the hood; giving you a full sound experience thanks to the four built-in speakers and two subwoofers, all of which have been tuned with Dolby Audio.
