To many, the Kylo we saw in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the Anakin Skywalker story told right. Instead of a creepy weirdo who hates sand and desperately wants to have sex with a princess, we get a conflicted man, desperate to live up to his grandfather’s name, unable to control his emotions. Kylo Ren is an awesome villain!

After the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, many assumed that Kylo Ren would ultimately follow his grandfather’s path. However, in an interview with Sunday Today, Adam Driver, the actor who plays Kylo Ren, revealed that Kylo Ren’s story will move in unexpected directions in  Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

When asked if audiences would be satisfied with the movie, Driver had this to say:

God, I hope. I hope they will. I think it will be hopefully unexpected.

Daisy Ridley also had something similar to say in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

What’s wonderful is it’s not so cut and dry, who’s good and who’s bad and that’s not me saying, ‘Oh, my God, some people are gonna go bad.’
