Gamon Sakurai’s sci-fi horror manga series Ajin: Demi Human/亜人 is set to be adapted into trilogy of movies and a TV series. The 13 episode TV anime series will premiere on MBS and TBS on 16th January .
Miyano Mamoru (One-Punch Man, Death Parade) will be voicing the main character of the series and he will also be pulling double duty by singing the ED theme. Polygon Pictures (Knights of Sidonia, Sanzoku no Musume Ronya) will be producing the project with first part of movie titled “Shoudou” (Impulse), and it’s set to open at 30 cinemas across Japan on 27th November 2015.
The Director will be Hiroaki Ando (Norageki, Gambo) and the script will be written by Hiroshi Seko (Owari no Seraph series). Aside from the main lead, the other voice cast are Yoshimasa Hoshoya (Death Parade, Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry), Hochu Otsuka (K: Return of Kings), Takahiro Sakurai (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, One-Punch Man) and Mikako Komatsu (Aldnoah Zero Season 2, Gangsta.)
The movie’s theme will be sang by a four-member Japanese rock band called flumpool with the theme song titled “Yoru wa Nemerukai?” (Can You Sleep in the Night?)
And in case you’re wondering the premise of Ajin: Demi Human, it is set in a Japan that has seen the rise of people who are essentially immortal. These people are called “Ajin” and the series follows Kei Nagai, student that discovers he is one after being hit by a truck.
On top of being shown on MBS and TBS, Ajin: Demi Human, the series will also be streamed onto Netflix.
