Power Rangers isn’t the same without Alpha 5, but the movie reboot’s robot sidekick isn’t quite looking like how we remember him.
However, Alpha 5 isn’t actually a robot in the new movie. Instead he’s actually an alien, and has similarly textured armor to the Ranger’s own suits; a bizarre mix of organic and inorganic parts.
They did keep some elements of the original alpha, including the mostly-red colour scheme and the saucer shaped head. Among other things given a revamp are the Ranger’s armor (which decidedly looks more alien) the Zords, and Rita Repulsa, who looks totally different from her TV show counterpart.
