The first trailer for the live action drama adaptation of AnoHana/あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない or We Still Don’t Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day is out and it shows off the cast in character plus a few famous key scenes from the drama as inspired by the anime series. The anime series is a sleeper hit back in 2011, becoming famous thanks to its tight writing and great characters.
The TV drama series will be two hours long, airing on Fuji TV on 21 September 2015. Starring Nijiro Murakami (Kaito in Still the Water) as Jinta Yadomi, Minami Hamabe (Nana Asakura from Naniwa Junior Detectives – Naniwa Shonen Tanteida) as Meiko Honma, and Airi Matsui (Noa Takigawa in Yamada and the Seven Witches Live Action Drama) as Naruko Anjo. Jun Shison (Ressha Sentai ToQger ) will be playing as Atsumu Matsuyuki, Marie Iitoyo (Flowers for Algernon) is Chiriko Tsurumi and finally Yuuta Takahata (Mare) starring as Tetsudo “Poppo” Hisakawa.
It will be two days after the theatrical release of the new film Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterun Da. /The Anthem of the Heart which is made by the same production team of the anime. Are we ready to cry again? because we all know how the story ends.
Now, it is the question if the live-action can live up to the spirit and pathos of the anime series managed to evoke despite its short 11 episode cour. Judging from the live-action track record so far, this one has quite a challenge to meet.
