So how many of you out there are still reading Archie comics? If you’re a fan, you’ll be chuffed with this piece of news as the red-headed teen from Riverdale and his gang will soon be getting it’s own TV series.
Yep, the Riverdale gang is heading to the television screen courtesy of the CW network which has ordered a pilot for the series to be made. It won’t be call the “Archie Show” though and instead will be called Riverdale. Considering what most of the Archie comics have dealt with, teenage life, romance and such, it’s no surprise that the CW would be the perfect network for it.
The pilot will be helmed by Greg Berlanti, who for most geeks would know is the man responsible for Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Though some of you might not know that he was also the man behind Dawson’s Creek so Riverdale would definitely be up his alley as well.
And if you Archie fans think Berlanti is gonna go all superhero on the series, don’t worry, the script will be written by Archie Comics’ own chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
So what do you think? Will you be excited to see Archie Andrews in the flesh?
