Last year we got a teaser for the upcoming Astro Boy reboot, and now the project has revealed a poster image teasing even more characters.
The original Astro Boy manga has inspired quite a lot of works, with two animes aired in Japan and an animated movie in 2008. New Line Cinema is also in talks to acquire Animal Logic Entertainment and Tezuka Production’s live-action Astro Boy film as well.
The new 26 episode series is being collaborated on by Japan’s Tezuka Productions, France’s Caribara Animation and Monaco’s Shibuya Production to make the new show with 2D and CG techniques.
The show is going to be aimed at kids aged eight to twelve and might have a brand new story featuring our hero.
So far in terms of production, Florian Thouret is the director and graphic designer of the series with Chiyako Maeda for voice and Yuchiro Maeda for music.
No word yet when we’ll actually get to see the new series in action but we’re pretty excited.
