Otaku fans who happens to love motorcycles, rejoice!

An exciting announcement was made for fans of the cute schoolgirls and motorcycles manga Bakuon!!/ばくおん!!, as its sixth volume wraparound promotes an anime visual from the series. Despite this however, we do not know what format this anime will be or when it will be aired, the casting and the staff.

The manga series will be written and illustrated by Orimoto Mimana, serializing in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Retsu since 2011. The official synopsis from the publisher:

“The story follows Hane Sakura, a girl that has to ride her bicycle up several steep hills just to get to her new high school. As she is desperately pedals to school on day, she sees and hears and sees a motorcycle zoom past her and instantly falls in love with it. It turns out that bike was driven by her new classmate Onsa Amano, who also happens to be in the school Motorcycle Club. The two quickly become friends, as they set out on a metaphorical and picaresque journey in the world of bikes and biking!”

The manga is popular enough that the Tokyo Metropolitan and Metropolitan Police Department collaborated with the mangaka to promote traffic safety to its readers. Thanks to the joint effort, three awareness infomercial campaigns have been held where the manga characters were featured in the promotional materials.

It looks like a very lighthearted series to enjoy.
