A single page teaser advert in V Jump magazine promises a “huge” Digimon project involving Bandai, Namco Bandai Entertainment, and Toei Animation. Apart from the name Appli Monsters the ad merely says that more information will be revealed at the Tokyo Toy Show on June 9th.
Digimon’s most recent animation efforts are the recent Adventure Tri. film series, an epic six parter with the 3rd film due to release in September. There has not been a Digimon TV series since Digimon Fusion left the air in 2012. Appli Monsters will be the 7th Digimon TV show.
