Beyond Good & Evil 2 has had it rough. Originally announced in 2008, the game’s state of development has been mentioned in passing on and off, but a new image has cropped up on creator Michael Ancel’s Instagram that rekindles our hopes for the game.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is a sequel to Ancel’s 2003 game of the same name, which takes a photojournalist named Jade as she uncovers a huge alien conspiracy. The game was popular but failed to sell well; with a remastered version for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 being released in 2011.
There’s even some possible gameplay footage that leaked for the game a few years ago, featuring what looks like Jade running from enemy fire.
As for the image, it shows off an image of a grizzled man with a young pig on his shoulders; with the caption “Somewhere in System 4…Thanks #ubisoft for making this possible”
System 4 is the fictional chunk of space which the game takes place in, and we can only assume that the young pig is some relative of Pey’j’s or him during his younger days. It’s also interesting to note that the old man and the pig have a red mark on their heads. We’re not sure what that is or do we know who is the man but hopefully more will be revealed in due time.
