It looks like we’re not quite out of the woods yet for bad news. Bill Paxton, age 61 has sadly passed away due to surgery complications.

Paxton isn’t a stranger to the movie scene, having starred in many films like Aliens, True Lies, Apollo 13, U-571, Big Love and Edge of Tomorrow, on top of a huge legacy of works, all the way to this year.

A representative of the family made a statement on his passing, as well as making a call for privacy:

“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery. A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”

He will be making one final appearance on the big screen in The Circle, where he stars alongside Emma Watson and Tom Hanks. The movie will be out 28 April, if you want to catch him one last time.

May he rest in peace.
