The peeps over at TFW 2005 have spotted something really cool! Hasbro, the multinational toy and board game company submitted a trademark application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Tuesday for the BUMBLEBEE SPIN-OFF MOVIE that’s currently in the works.

On Saturday, USPTO accepted the application which comes with a stylised design of a bee. While we don’t have access to the fully coloured design, you can check out the black-and-white-but-still-so-cool version of the logo in the image below.

This movie, currently simply titled as The Bumblebee Movie is being helmed by Travis Knight, who’s the genius behind the Oscar-nominated films Kubo and the Two Strings and also Box Trolls. The Bumblebee Movie will be penned by British screenwriter Christina Hodson, who previously wrote critically panned horror-thriller movies like Shut In and Unforgettable. There isn’t much information released about The Bumblebee Movie, but we do know that it is a prequel and most likely will not include a large number of Transformers.

While we wait for more developments surrounding the movie, we still have the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight to look forward to. The synopsis of the upcoming Michael Bay epic is as follows:

Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.

Transformers: The Last Knight is set for release June 23, 2017.
