When you think of cinema’s best-kept secrets the likes of Kevin Spacey starring in Seven comes to mind. That’s right, back in 1997, people did not know that Kevin Spacey was cast as the infamous John Doe in David Fincher’s masterpiece. He didn’t make an appearance in any press conferences, nor was his name on any of the marketing materials. So, you can imagine how far people’s jaws dropped when they watched the movie in cinemas for the first time. Most recently, M. Night Shyamalan’s reveal at the end of Split blew the minds of film geeks around the world. How on earth did they keep that a secret?

On the other side of the coin, we have one of cinema’s worst kept secrets of all time: Superman (Henry Cavill) will be in Justice League. But of course, it’s never explicitly mentioned by any of the cast and crew including Henry Cavill. Why? Because Superman is dead. In his attempt to finish of Doomsday, Superman had no choice but to sacrifice himself as well, in Batman V Superman. In what could have been a great moment in an overall above average movie, Zack Snyder blew his load a little too fast by showing us this:

Since Batman V Superman, everyone has been hush hush on Henry Cavill’s involvement in Justice League. We all know Superman will make an appearance in Justice League. But to Warner Bros’ credit, they haven’t made that news official, choosing to tease us, instead. He didn’t make an appearance at comic con because he was busy working on Mission Impossible 6, and he’s not to be seen in the latest Justice League trailer as well. Alfred did go, “Let’s HOPE you’re not too late,” but judging by the way that scene is shot, I am 27% sure Alfred is talking to T-Rex.

Great job Warner Bros for teasing us, right?

Well…

In a recent turn of events, we now have somewhat official confirmation that Superman IS going to be in Justice League. And you’ll never guess who (or what) the culprit is. Okay, you probably already guessed because of the title of this article.

An extensive report by Variety states how one of the biggest challenges of the Justice League reshoots that are taking place is due to Henry Cavill’s friggin MOUSTACHE. Variety reports:

Cavill’s issues are even more thorny. Justice League’s Man of Steel had expected to be able to finish shooting the sixth Mission: Impossible film before needing to don Superman’s spandex again. That has not been the case, however, as the new scenes that are being shot have required him to jump back and forth from each production. Because of this, a MOUSTACHE he grew for his character in the Mission: Impossible sequel will have to be digitally removed in post-production. Paramount, which is distributing the Mission: Impossible sequel, would not allow Cavill to shave the facial hair while production was taking place.

So yeah, that’s pretty much confirmation that Superman played by Henry Cavill will be making an appearance in Justice League. #NoShitSherlock

Not only was that one of cinema’s worst kept secret, it was revealed because of the ridiculous circumstance.
