The film production for Captain America: Civil War or jokingly referred as “Avengers 2.5” by fans has already begun and Marvel announced that more people are set to join the already gigantic casting ensemble ever seen for Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. Paul Rudd will appear as Ant-Man and William Hurt is back with his role as Thunderbolt Ross from 2008’s Incredible Hulk. So far, the only absent major names are Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk for superheroes lineup whereas Samuel L.Jackson and Cobie Smulders as Nick Fury and Maria Hill respectively are also missing.
Now to recap the casting list and respective characters: Chris Evans (Captain America) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) will clash, along with Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (The Vision) and Don Cheadle (War Machine), Anthony Mackie (The Falcon), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter/Agent 13) and Frank Grillo (Brock Rumlow/Crossbones).
Besides Ant-Man, Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) will also appear in the movie besides the already announced Martin Freeman in an unspecified role and Daniel Brühl’s rumoured role as Baron Zemo, arch nemesis of Captain America.
The official synopsis of the film: “‘Captain America: Civil War’ picks up where ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”
The film shooting will take place at city of Atlanta, Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the alumni from Captain America: Winter Soldier, this superhero extravaganza will storm the cinemas 6 May 2016.
