The new smart phone models based on the popular Evangelion have emerged in celebration of its 20th anniversary with new info. This is after a collaboration with Japan Railways for Unit-01 themed shinkansen announced not long ago.
The models will retail for 78,000 Yen which is around US$649.34 (RM$2866) plus tax and it is based on Android OS. The manufacturers even assures that the smart phones will be SIM-lock free which means it can be used outside Japan. NTT DoCoMo will be the main telco provider for the models in Japan. Fans can pre-order the smart phones starting this November.
During a survey, the majority of respondents (30,000 of them) voted for Eva Shogoki or Unit-01 is the most desired design for the back cover, “simple” interface system and voice of Asuka Langley Soryu as the voice of smart phone functions. This survey also sussing the fans about the favourite scenes and sound cues from the Evangelion so there might be included as ring tones, bonus wallpapers, lockscreens and in-phone sound effects.
NTT DoCoMo has also offered the “Nerv Only” model before during the airing of Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance in 2009. The first Evangelion theme smart phone is produced back in 2012. For more information, check out their official site.
