The Warchowski siblings, fresh from space opera romp Jupiter Ascending and the movie that is still shaking the cinema world with the controversial Cloud Atlas, is back with a new Netflix exclusive series Sense8. Besides the siblings, Babylon 5’s creator J.M Straczynski and long time collaborator Grant Hill is on board for the ride. The story’s synopsis is rather straightforward:
One moment links 8 minds in disparate parts of the world, putting 8 strangers in each other’s lives, each other’s secrets, and in terrible danger.
The makers promises “unlike anything seen on television before, Sense8 pushes the boundaries in style, scope and story.” Not just the 8 characters able to share each other memories, they also tapping into each other skill-set ala Matrix too.
The multi-national cast will have names like Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Tina Desai, Doona Bae, Aml Ameen and Max Riemelt. Also not forgetting names like Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews, Terrence Mann, Freema Agyeman, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Adam Shapiro, Ness Bautista and Joe Pantoliano. Some of the names on the list have appeared in many movies made by the siblings.
12 episodes are planned for the first season with the pilot episode airing on 5 June 2015.
