Surprise, surprise. Code Geass is getting a brand new sequel and an anime compilation film trilogy in celebration of their 10th anniversary!
The new projects were revealed by Sunrise at the Code Geass 10th Anniversary event; also releasing a key visual for their next project.
The sequel is called Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Ressurection) but they didn’t reveal what format it will be in. The story takes place several years after Lelouch’s “Zero Requiem” plan, and that it features not a clone or alternate timeline version, but Lelouch himself.
The three-part film series will recap the entirety of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion series and its sequel, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. The first film is expected to arrive 2017, and the cast are re-recording all their lines for the films, including some new scenes.
The original Code Geass series premiered in 2006, while the sequel premiered in 2008, but given how the whole thing was concluded, is there really room for more Code Geass? let us know in the comments!
