The star of Jupiter Ascending and Magic Mike XXL confirmed that Gambit is not going to place any bet in the newest X-Men movie. During his Reddit’s AMA, he is quoted when he was asked the question: “No ma’am, or sir. I definitely will not.”
Tatum’s endorsement of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt, who recently signed on to helm the Gambit standalone film after a lengthy and difficult period of searching and rejection by other directors:
“…we finally found someone that I really do believe wants to make Gambit, it will be the second standalone character. And i just really think because Gambit is not the most popular or the biggest hero, I think there’s a really unique opportunity. Marvel’s done a lot of great movies that have made a ridiculous amount of money, and it’s always good to figure how to change the form.”
The writer of Gambit will be Joshua Zetumer (Robocop) and Tatum said it enthusiastically that it is “a killer“. The movie is set to open 7 October 2016. And those of you who are wondering what the star feels about Jupiter Ascending, this is his reply in the AMA session:
“Jupiter Ascending? What was that?
Channing Tatum: Great question. I have the same one to myself.”
