Razer Go Pokemon GO app

You have to hand it to Razer. They really know how to capitalise on what’s popular, and they’re doing it again. This time by releasing a companion app for Pokemon GO. Called RazerGO, it’s specifically designed to support the wildly popular AR game.

One thing that some players have bemoaned about Pokemon GO is a lack of an in-game chat system. And while there has been someone that had attempted to fill in that gap, it almost cost him to go bankrupt.

So in comes Razer with RazerGo. It utilises a location-based chat system which will allow trainers to discover other trainers not just within their vicinity, or region, but all over the world too.

Of course, the best part of the app is being able to create your own team chats, allowing you to whisper to team members, especially if you don’t want to publicise the location of a Legendary Pokemon.

And thanks to Razer’s experience with its Razer Comms, Razer has said they have the experience in maintaining stable and reliable communications on the app, something that the aforementioned good soul was unable to do.

Razer also intends to add on more features in the future with a Beacon Chat function slated to be added shortly. This feature would allow trainers to drop a Beacon anywhere on the map, setting up a micro-chat room that can be used to rally team members for a gym assault or (if you want a stampede) alert people to a location of a Legendary Pokemon.

And if that isn’t enough, Razer has also made a web version of RazerGo available, allowing for Pokemon hunt planning from the convenience of your desk.

So if you’re interested in getting your Pokemon hunt team even more organised, then you might want to give this app a go. For now, the app is only available on iOS here, while the Android version is slated to be released soon.
