Deadpool’s (slightly) more serious side

GoodBadUgly2Deadpool Volume 3 (2013) Issues #15-#19: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

While Deadpool is usually the  source of humour in his books, there has always been a more serious side to the character. A good introduction to this side of the character is the The Good, The Bad and the Ugly storyline where Wade discovers that someone has been regularly knocking him out and harvesting bits and pieces of his body without him noticing.
Suspecting that somebody might be starting a new super soldier program, Wade tries to get help from the most prominent super soldiers he knows; Wolverine and Captain America.

GoodBadUglyUnfortunately, both of them dismiss him as a crazy person, having dealt with Wade in the past, but once they all realise what’s really going on and events overtake them, a classic team-up results.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
manages to deliver a fun team-up adventure with some of Marvel’s more prominent characters, lets Deadpool earn some respect from Wolvie and Cap and introduces some new, tragic wrinkles to Deadpool’s character .

Deadpool isn’t always jokes and laughter and this storyline serves as a good bridge to the darker side of his personality.
