Hawkeye Vs. Deadpool
Hawkeye vs Deadpool Issues #1-#4
As with “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly”, Deadpool often works best as a character when paired up with one of the more straight-laced superheroes of the Marvel universe. His incessant babbling and tendency to murder passers by acting as a constant source of irritation to others.
In Hawkeye Vs Deadpool he’s teamed with The Avenger’s archer in a style more reminiscent of the “street level” heroics Hawkeye’s been engaging in since his stylish 2012 series by Matt Fraction and David Aja, than the lunacy that often surrounds Deadpool.
Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Kate Bishop (also Hawkeye) reluctantly team up with Deadpool (is there any other way?) in order to seek out a stolen list of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives private details and have to take care of an army of brainwashed goons dressed as super heroes along the way.
The action zips along nicely, the artwork by Matteo Lolli and Jacopo Camagni is crisp and expressive and there’s a nice interplay between “Lady Hawkeye” (that’s not her name) and Deadpool.
Hawkeye Vs. Deadpool definitely falls into the lighter category of Deadpool stories, but is no less enjoyable for it.
Plus Deadpool gets to jack Hawkeye’s Sky-Cycle and old outfit.
