If you ever wanted to snag the DeLorean that became famous thanks to Back to the Future, the brand is producing a limited run of 300 of said cars for sale to the public.
The news came from DeLorean CEO Stephen Wynne that they will be reproducing the car, but only under the low-volume manufacturing bill. This means the brand can’t mass produce replica vehicles so its literally going to be very limited edition.
Wynne estimates that he can make approximately produce 300 cars; with a potential output of a car a week. The cars aren’t exactly cheap though; with refurbished versions of the DMC-12 to set customers back arund $45,000 to $55,000 and a brand new one will be just under $100,000.
The DMC-12 would look exactly as it was designed back in the 1980’ies, complete with gullwings. Production is set to start as soon as possible, with the first car estimated to hit the market in 2017.
