Dissidia Final Fantasy, a fighting game for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) which starred heroes and villains from the whole spectrum of Final Fantasy games, is hitting the arcades in Japan. Announced by Square Enix at the Japanese Amusement Expo, the game will pit characters against one another in a three-dimensional fighting space like what they did for the first game and it’s sequel Dissidia 012: Duodecim.
The arcade update is getting some remastered graphics as well, and from the trailer it looks like three-on-tree battles will be possible; as opposed to the original one-on-one style which was on the PSP. We will see the return of fan favourtes like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII, Terra from Final Fantasy VI and newer contenders like Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII, all rendered in in-game graphics. Overall it’s looking really promising.
The game is set for an 10 April release, though no news on whether we might be getting this in our arcades or a console port, but such news would certainly make us very happy.
