Just when we thought we were safe from the movie reboots and adaptations, now comes along a Dora the Explorer movie in live action.
The whole idea came about when College Humor released a funny fake trailer in 2012 for a live-action movie starring said children’s TV icon.
Now it seems that Paramount Pictures is picking up the idea for real and they’re getting Tom Wheeler of Puss in Boots fame to script it. He also is currently scripting an adaptation for Micronauts for Hasbro at the moment.
For those who don’t know Dora the Explorer , the show runs on Nick Jr. and started in 2000. Dang, the series is 15 years old.
We’re not sure what to make of it yet, considering we don’t know how they can translate said cartoon into a proper feature-length movie. Maybe Dora will get the Indiana Jones or Lara Croft treatment? details have yet to surface so we can only assume.
