It’s been 10 years since The Sims 2 first launched (damn we feel old now) and now EA is pulling the plug on the support for the game. Sad isn’t it? EA however has decided to get a little generous for current owners and as a parting gift, is giving a copy of the Sims 2 Ultimate collection.
Now isn’t that nice of EA. Essentially, any Sims 2 owner who never bothered to collect ALL the eight expansion packs and nine stuff packs will now be getting them all for free (wow it must really suck if you already paid for ALL of them). There’s a catch though. This offer is only available to those who bought and registered the digital copy of The Sims 2. So for those of you who were CD only buyers, tough luck. Yeah, we know it blows but its likely that most of you with a physical copy of The Sims 2 has let it gather dust somewhere in preference for say maybe The Sims 3.
However, those of you lucky enough to have gotten the digital copy, the Ultimate edition ought to be appearing in your Origin account pretty soon.
Great job EA. Now please don’t make us go through the whole process of buying multiple expansion packs again for The Sims 4.
